Episode 10

Sold me down the river.

W/C 15th March 2021

For whatever reason when we recorded The Corona Diaries podcast this week we ended up talking about the City Hall in Sheffield. As such (and at various points through the week) I have been reflecting on some of the gigs I have seen there over the years.

One of the ones that always comes to mind is The Alarm, in fact I have just been looking at the ticket stub from that night - the 21st of January 1990. Man, they were good, and it was one of those ear-ringing-for-days kind of gigs that don't seem to happen much anymore.

Anyway the first song they played was 'sold me down the river' and it just about sums up how I feel about a couple of things that have happened this week.

So there you have it.

Stay safe.

I have been tinkering with audio since my mid-teens, recording songs & producing content for friends.

Post university I embraced the world of retail, firstly in supermarkets and later in & around the music instrument industry.

After 20 years or so, I took a sideways step into podcasting and began a venture called ashortstories, which helps in the development & production of podcasts for anyone that has a story to tell.
